Art Deco wooden wall console / wall table – figured wood – ca. 1920–1940 A particularly atmospheric wooden wall console from the first half of the 20th century, executed with a warm golden-brown wood figure and fine architectural details. The broad top plate, the rectangular back panel and the two striking curved consoles give the piece a powerful, almost architectural appearance. Above all, the woodwork catches the eye. The central back panel shows a strongly figured flame- and curly-grained veneer, while the consoles and framing reveal a clearer linear wood texture. The profiled edges of the top and the progressively stepped ends of the consoles add depth and refinement. In terms of design, the object aligns well with Dutch wall consoles from the Art Deco period and the 1920s–1930s, in which oak wood, geometric lines, profiled edges and sturdy wooden consoles were widely used.
