Aruba & Netherlands Antilles 1987–1998 – Collection of 15 Official FDC Mint Sets Collection of fifteen official annual mint sets from Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles, issued by ’s Rijks Munt / De Nederlandse Munt. Presented in their original illustrated folders, featuring Caribbean landscapes, architecture, coastlines and island life. The collection comprises: Aruba – 8 sets: 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Netherlands Antilles – 7 sets: 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. The Aruba sets contain denominations from 5 cents to 2½ florin, with the 1996–1998 sets additionally including the distinctive square 5-florin coin. The designs combine local motifs with portraits of Queen Beatrix on the higher denominations. The Netherlands Antilles sets contain denominations from 1 cent to 2½ guilders. The 1998 issue also includes the 5-guilder coin, adding a further denomination to the series. These sets illustrate the separate monetary identities of Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Their original photographic folders add a contemporary visual record of the Dutch Caribbean during the late 1980s and 1990s.
