Rosita, Colorado, 1884. 100 Shares I/U Stock Certificate, Black print with bronze border and underprint, Mining vignette at center under title with gold embossed seal at bottom left corner, S/N 114, Jones Litho. Co. Formed during the speculative consolidation wave that followed the Silver Cliff mining boom, this company reflects an era when numerous small Colorado lode claims were reorganized to attract outside capital. While not documented as a producing mine, certificates from these short-lived ventures illustrate the promotional mining activity that defined the district in the 1880s.
