Cigarette case - Box of cigarettes - .835 silver - Colonel L. De Zeeuw

An extremely rare and historically significant silver cigar box (with a cedarwood interior). This object was given in 1955 as an official farewell gift to one of the most important post-war figures within the Dutch gendarmerie: Colonel L. de Zeeuw, the later Brigadier General and the highest Commander of the entire Royal Marechaussee (1956-1959). Historical engraving and emblem On the inside of the lid there is a beautiful, razor-sharp engraving in the cedarwood, inlaid with the official historical officers' emblem of the Royal Marechaussee (the exploding grenade with the burning flame and the crossed sabers). Quality is good, 2 small pits in the lid. Total weight 392 grams The lot will be sent by registered mail.
