Its historical significance arises from the great industrial revolution of 1842, when Christofle acquired exclusive patents for electroplating silversmithing and gilding. This innovation allowed the manufacture to produce objects of the highest quality and extraordinary brilliance, ensuring silver’s durability for everyday forms and uses. During the 19th and 20th centuries, Christofle became the official supplier to Emperor Napoleon III, European royal courts, as well as prestigious luxury hotels, shipping companies (such as the transatlantic liner Normandie), and fine dining. Even today, owning a Christofle-branded piece means choosing an object of high craftsmanship, historical significance, and timeless design. Condition: The set is presented in excellent overall condition, solid, structurally intact, and ready for use or display. As vintage and used items, they show the normal and slight signs of time and use: very light dents, slight scratches, and natural surface patinas due to washing and use (as visible in the detailed photos). The silverware is externally polished, with beautiful luster and splendid overall aesthetic appeal.
