Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220 or later. A rectangular bronze mirror cast in relief, centred by a circular suspension knob and divided into four symmetrical decorative fields. The principal surface is densely ornamented with stylised mythical beasts and scrolling motifs arranged around the central boss, enclosed within geometric and linear borders. A broad, slightly raised undecorated rim frames the composition. Size: 145mm x 200mm; Weight: 720g Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
