Wonderful Hupeh Tael with Large Characters CHINA. Hupeh. Tael, Year 30 (1904). Wuchang Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS Genuine--Harshly Cleaned, AU Details. L&M-181; K-933B; KM-Y-128.1; WS-0879. Large characters variety. Offering only a light degree of wear across the higher points, this specimen does also display some minor cleaning in the form of scattered hairlines among the fields. Remaining largely untoned, it features some burnished hints in a few places, but is essentially monochromatic. Undoubtedly the SCARCER of the two varieties for this type, with the present lot allowing for a great chance at a representative that features all of its design elements, and with a particular boldness of strike and very little wear from circulation. Estimate: $40,000 - $60,000. Provenance: From the MC Collection (陳氏家族集藏). To view all items from the MC Collection (陳氏家族集藏), click here. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
