LOT OF 2 CHINA COINS (2 FEN - 5 FEN) 1. CHINA. 2 Fen. 1979. - Value: 2 Fen. - Year: 1979. - Inscriptions: Obverse: 中华人民共和国. Reverse: 2 贰分 1979. - Grade: MS68 (NGC). Coin of 2 Fen issued by the People’s Republic of China. The obverse features the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China, surrounded by the legend with the official name of the country. The reverse shows the face value “2 贰分” framed by two ears of wheat, with the date “1979” at the bottom, following the characteristic design of the circulating series issued since the 1950s. The specimen stands out for its extraordinary state of preservation, with intense original luster, perfectly defined reliefs and virtually immaculate fields, qualities fully in line with the high grade MS68. These small aluminum coins were minted for everyday circulation during the early period of the economic reforms led by Deng Xiaoping and constitute a series highly valued in high grades. ⸻ 2. The obverse features the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China surrounded by the legend with the country’s name, while the reverse shows the face value “5 伍分” flanked by ears of wheat and the date “1998”. The specimen exhibits the characteristic Cameo contrast between the frosted reliefs and the highly reflective fields, with a minting of great sharpness, very clean surfaces and an excellent luster, fully in line with the PF68 CAMEO grade. These Proof issues were produced for collectors in limited quantities and represent the continuity of the classic design of the fractional coinage of the People’s Republic of China with a high-quality presentation finish.
