CHINA - 19th century A blue silk dress embroidered with gold and multicolored threads depicting nine five-clawed dragons, shown from the front or in profile as they chase sacred pearls, surrounded by cranes—symbols of good fortune— stylized clouds, and bats, above a band of lishui and sacred peaks. The collar and sleeve trims are made of brown silk embroidered with dragons. The lining is light blue silk. (significant holes, tears, missing sections, stains)
