Interesting and rare pocket watch, crafted by Charles Oudin Palais Royal 52 Paris, around the mid-1800s. Complete with a chain and winding key. Oudin was an important pupil of master Abraham-Louis Breguet. Watch in working order. This type of watch, at the time, due to its black color, was called the “widow” or the “clerical.” Despite its age, its overall condition is very good. Case in ebonite, Roman numerals on white enamel cartouches, applied along the outer rim of the case. Gold hands and original glass. White porcelain dial, with Arabic numerals in italic slant. Name of the maker. Presence of a “cap.” Gold-plated mechanism, handsome and clean, with the inscription “Medaille d'or - ch.
