Production and elaboration process of the sculpture Modeling and molding: Original modeling: Initial sculpting of the human figure (bust) paying attention to facial features and hair texture. Mold making: Creation of a high-precision flexible silicone mold to faithfully reproduce the volumes of the original design. Casting in polymer: Casting/pouring with polymer resin (or polymer blend), ensuring a solid, durable and resistant structure. Surface preparation: Sanding and deburring: Manual removal of casting imperfections and sanding the piece to leave a uniform base. Priming: Application of a base primer layer to ensure adhesion of subsequent materials. Metal leaf and color technique (Mixed Technique): Adhesion/Joining: Application of mordant or specific adhesive for metal leaf on the areas of the face, hair and base. Silver and gold: Water gilding or mastic gilding by manually applying silver and gold leaf sheets in strategic areas such as the face and the upper part of the hair. Chromatic intervention / Pigmentation: Manual incorporation of fragments of colored metallic metal leafs and intervention with paint/pigments to create expressive color contrasts over the silver finish. Finish and conservation: Fixation: Manual fixation of the chromatic scales and metal leaf. Protective sealing: Application of a clear protective varnish or sealer to prevent oxidation of the metal leaves and protect the piece from dust and UV light.
