Charles Bailly (1947) - Calanques

Charles Bailly (1947) - Les Calanques Oil on canvas Superb and luminous oil painting on canvas executed entirely with a palette knife by the French artist Charles Bailly (listed artist, silver medal at the Grand Prix International de Prestige). This contemporary work captivates immediately with its dynamic verticality and the intensity of its palette. In the foreground, majestic pine trunks in a bright vermilion red rise toward a textured golden-yellow sky. They open onto a vast maritime panorama of deep and vibrant ultramarine blue, rhythmically punctuated by the subtle silhouettes of distant sailboats and coastal cliffs. Perfectly representative of the artist's know-how, the knife work adds generous matter (impasto) and relief that beautifully catches natural light. A coveted piece for collectors of modern marine paintings and Provençal/Mediterranean landscapes.
