Beautiful set of six antique French Barbotine plates dating from the Belle Époque period, circa 1900-1910. Each plate is richly decorated in high relief with lush grape clusters, vine leaves and curling tendrils, all finished in vibrant shades of purple, green and ochre against a creamy ivory background. The naturalistic sculptural decoration is characteristic of the celebrated French Barbotine tradition It is very special that this is a set of 6 plates. The design perfectly captures the Art Nouveau fascination with organic forms and nature-inspired motifs. Grapevines and wine-related imagery were among the most popular decorative themes produced by the major French faience manufactories of the period. The plates display a beautiful glossy glaze with fine age-related craquelure, adding warmth and authenticity to their antique character. The rich relief work creates a striking visual effect, making the set particularly attractive for wall display, table decoration, or inclusion in a collection of French majolica and Barbotine ceramics. A charming and highly decorative Belle Époque set of 6 that embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of French ceramic production around 1900. 4 plates are marked with an impressed backstamp featuring a hunting horn (Cor de Chasse), which serves as the traditional maker's mark for Chantilly barbotine (see detailed photos). The celebrated hunting horn mark (Cor de Chasse) is the historic emblem of the Chantilly pottery works Good antique condition with normal age-related wear and craquelure consistent with age.
