Chair - Female chauffeur - Damask fabric - Bedroom chair — H: 75 cm

Room Chair "Chauffeuse" in Neoclassical Style – Blue Damask Fabric Elegant low conversation or bedroom chair (chauffeuse model), characterized by a sinuous and refined line. The chair features a slightly wraparound backrest in a fan shape and carved wooden legs: the front ones in curviform cabriole (bending) and the rear ones in a saber shape, typical of European classic style. The upholstery is made in a precious blue powder damask fabric, with tone-on-tone floral patterns that give brightness and depth to the seat. The finish is enriched by coordinated trim and brass-toned studs along the profile of the seat and backrest. Technical Characteristics Frame material: Solid wood (likely beech or walnut). Upholstery: Damask fabric with a floral weave. Details: Trim with gold studs and interwoven piping. Style: Transition between Louis XV and Neoclassical. Item Condition The item presents generally good condition, with the usual signs of time that attest to its authenticity: Structure: Solid and stable. Wood: Small scratches and minor loss of polish on the legs (visible in close-up photos), easily restaurable with colored wax. Fabric: The fabric is intact, but shows some areas with humidity or age halos/stains along the edges of the trim (see photos 4 and 9). Backing: The lower protective fabric (gunny/skein) is present but shows some tears due to age; the internal springing still seems functional. Note for collectors: A piece of great decorative charm, ideal for an home staging project or to furnish an elegant bedroom. The photos are an integral part of the description.
