Center of the Milky Way

Very large format vintage gelatin silver print on resin coated Kodak paper, with 'This Paper Manufactured By Kodak' watermarks, ink annotation 'MRRS 18103 NG'. Rare image of the center of our galaxy. This fascinating image, believed to have been taken with the Hubble Space Telescope, depicts the center of our galaxy in monochrome. The center is blacked out to protect the camera from over-exposure. The defined rings of light and burning white glow at the center of the image attractively contrast the sterile blackness of the surrounding page. Although created for scientific purposes, the photograph possesses considerable aesthetic appeal and highlights the remarkable beauty of our galactic home.
