Censer - Metal - Incense-bearing navicella

Liturgical Incense Boat – 19th century – silvered and gold-plated metal Elegant liturgical incense boat, dating presumably to the 19th century, made of silvered metal with refined gilded details. The object presents the traditional boat shape, supported by a circular, raised foot, decorated along the edge with dense beadwork. The central stem, turned and proportioned, supports the upper body with soft lines and slightly flared sides. Particularly interesting is the upper part, formed by movable hinged lids, adorned with relief floral and vegetal motifs. At the ends there are small gilded spherical knobs, while at the center a gilded sacred figure stands out, probably depicting a saint or a biblically benevolent figure, an element that gives the whole piece a strong devotional and decorative character. Inside retains the typical tray intended to hold incense during liturgical celebrations. The surface shows a beautiful patina of time, with light oxidation, marks and signs of use consistent with age and the object's original function. Overall it is in good preservation condition, with intact structure and functioning lids. Dimensions: about 19 × 20 × 10.5 cm Weight: about 360 g Era: 19th century / early 20th century Material: silvered metal with gilded elements An interesting object of sacred art and ecclesiastical antiques, also very decorative even outside the liturgical context, ideal for a collection of ancient religious objects, a wunderkammer or a classical and refined setting. The photographs are an integral part of the description and faithfully show the item's state of conservation. Packaging will be carried out with particular care and materials appropriate to the nature of the object.
