Cassis madagascariensis - Cameo - ornamental sculpture

Magnificent artistic cup carved from the Madagascar seashell Cassis madagascariensis, adorned with a refined and complex relief hand-engraved design. Perfect for those seeking a unique and special decorative object. The surface is worked with meticulous attention to detail, giving life to a three-dimensional composition of considerable visual impact. The decoration seems to develop a cosmological and allegorical theme, referring to the creation of the universe and the stars. The feminine profiles, figures inspired by classical sculpture, the stars, celestial motifs and ornamental elements seem to evoke a primordial world in formation, where the forces of nature and symbolic deities preside over the order of the cosmos. The different levels of the engraving create a refined depth effect, highlighting the plasticity of the figures and the complexity of the composition. The original shape of the shell has been enhanced through artistic craftsmanship that transforms a natural material into a sculptural object of great charm. The cup is mounted on a black turned support, completed by a square base in dark marble with light veining, which gives stability and elegance to the whole. The work is by a Master Engraver from Torre del Greco, the artistic capital city of shell engraving. Marble base 15.5 cm x 15.5 cm Height with base 32 cm Height of just the shell 19 cm Shell width 14 cm Shell depth 15 cm Weight of just the shell 1160 g Total weight with base 3,350 g Will be delivered with protective packaging and material warranty.
