Charming and rare sculptural centerpiece (also usable as a sumptuous catch-all tray or monumental ashtray) in refined glossy glazed artistic ceramic. The piece is an authentic testament to mid-20th-century Italian modernist design, characterized by sinuous and enveloping lines in the shape of a leaf or stylized shell. The work plays with an elegant chromatic contrast: the pristine white body is embraced by broad sculptural bands cascading in emerald green and sage green, enhanced by continuous hand-applied profiles in 24k gold fired in a third firing. The lot preserves on the bottom the prestigious original golden label "Carpiè SELE - ARTE, NOVE (Vic.) ITALY", an elite line known for collaborating with important designers of the era. On the lower edge there is also the famous cursive signature "Carpiè" traced by hand in gold. Insured shipping, this shipment cannot be combined with other lots.
