Candelabrum (2) - Bronze - Louis XVI couple

Elegant pair of 19th-century French candlesticks in gilded bronze, inspired by the refined models of the Louis XVI style. Its design is characterized by a sober and balanced composition, where the purity of the lines and the harmony of the proportions evoke the neoclassical taste that defined French decoration of the late 18th century and which experienced a significant revival during the 19th century. Each candlestick rises on a quadrilobed base with cut profiles, set on a truncated-conical body with a gentle transition that leads to a slender, turned shaft. The stem features a sequence of annular moldings and delicate tapering that add visual rhythm to the whole, culminating in a flat-profile catch-dish and a cylindrical candle holder of great formal simplicity. The absence of exuberant ornamentation enhances the quality of the casting and the architectural elegance of its volumes, a characteristic trait of the Louis XVI decorative language. The warm patina acquired by the bronze over time confers depth and authenticity to the piece, highlighting the light signs of use typical of its age. Thanks to its pared-down and timeless design, this pair of candlesticks is especially suitable for integrating into both classical interiors and contemporary eclectic décors, lending a note of distinction and historical refinement. It is a decorative ensemble of great aesthetic balance, representative of the persistence of French neoclassical taste in the decorative arts of the 19th century. Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
