Burmese amber - Amber - Burmese Amber with Fossil Millipede (Diplopoda

An original Burmese amber from Myanmar from the Cretaceous period with an exceptionally well-preserved fossil millipede (Diplopoda). The inclusion is comparatively large and largely completely preserved. Especially notable are the clearly segmented body structure, the numerous individually recognizable legs, and the protruding lateral structures of the body segments. Based on the recognizable morphological features, an assignment within Diplopoda appears plausible, possibly cf. Polydesmida (flat-backed millipedes). A more precise assignment at the family or genus level is intentionally not provided, as it would require a detailed scientific examination of additional diagnostic features. Details: Weight: 0.63 g Origin: Myanmar (Burma) Age: about 99 million years Geological time: Cretaceous / Cenomanian Inclusion: fossil millipede – Diplopoda Preliminary classification: cf. Polydesmida clearly segmented body numerous well-recognizable legs prominent lateral segment structures largely preserved as a single piece additional plant and organic inclusions natural fossil amber polished for better viewing of the inclusion The millipede stands out clearly from the transparent, pale-yellow amber. Under magnification, the numerous legs, the individual body segments, and their lateral structures are particularly well visible. Natural resin structures, organic particles and minor irregularities are part of the fossil amber. You receive exactly the amber shown in the pictures.
