Brownwood, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1802-1. Citizens NB. Charter #13588. PCGS Banknote Gem Uncirculated 65 PPQ. Serial Number 1. Saved as a souvenir based on the obvious seen at left and right. This T1 $20 issued by the Citizens National Bank of Brownwood (Charter# 13588) is already an exceptional item based on both the grade assigned by PCGS Banknote and the fact that 37 non-institutional pieces are recorded here by the National Bank Note Census. Yet looking exclusively to these two traits allows one the unfortunate opportunity to overlook what makes this note special. Emblazoned at left and right in brown, the appreciative collector may observe a single-digit serial number which reads "B000001A" and provides an inscrutable provenance that this exact note was once part of the first sheet of T1 $20s received by this institution in 1932 making this one of the many great opportunities to be had from the Jack Copeland Currency Collection.
