This large jug or pitcher in fine earthenware of Art Deco style bears witness to the creativity of the famous Boch Frères Keramis manufactory in La Louvière. Its tall and slightly plump silhouette is adorned with a stylized geometric and floral decoration typical of Belgian productions from the interwar period. The pattern unfurls across a broad central blue vertical band adorned with circular medallions containing flowers and foliage in green and ochre tones, highlighted by black lines and friezes of gold dots. The neck of the piece is highlighted by an alternation of blue triangles and fine gold dots, while the angular handle features a golden border on its edge. The object measures 30 cm in height, with a maximum diameter of 17 cm and a maximum total width of 28 cm from the handle to the spout. Its individual and total weight amounts to 2300 g. The base of the piece features the official circular black stamp printed underglaze from the manufactory reading Made in Belgium Boch Fes La Louvière Fabrication Belge as well as an incised mold number. The whole lot is in good general condition of preservation showing beautiful normal wear marks due to its age, including a few slight losses and superficial wear of the gilding in places.
