Rare Natural Green Hauyne Facet & Cabochon Rough Lot from Badakhshan, Afghanistan – 104 g – UV Fluorescent This is a rare lot of natural Hauyne rough from the Badakhshan Mines of Afghanistan, consisting of 27 individual pieces with a total weight of 104 grams. The pieces show a beautiful natural green colour, with impressive lustre and transparency that make this lot particularly attractive for collectors and lapidary enthusiasts. Hauyne is a rare gemstone, most commonly encountered in blue and green colours. This lot is notable for its natural green colour, strong lustre, good transparency and natural inclusions. The pieces are untreated and unheated, retaining their natural characteristics. An especially interesting feature of this lot is its UV fluorescence. The pieces show a distinct yellow colour change/fluorescence under UV light, adding another collectible characteristic to these already unusual specimens. The majority of the pieces are large and suitable for both faceting and cabochon cutting. Their sizes offer the possibility of producing larger cut gemstones and cabochons, which can be used for rings, pendants, necklace sets and other jewellery. Some of the longer pieces can also be incorporated into jewellery in their natural rough form. The combination of rarity, natural green colour, transparency, lustre and UV fluorescence makes this an unusual and versatile Hauyne rough lot.
