Bed - Cherry wood

Original Biedermeier Sleigh Bed in Cherry Wood – stylish antique bed for children, youths, or smaller adults For sale is an exceptionally beautiful antique bed made from solid cherry wood. The bed impresses with its elegant, curved shape featuring the characteristic high side rails as well as the headboard and footboard. Especially noticeable are the finely executed black ebony-like profiled strips, which give the furniture a very nice Biedermeier look. In my assessment, this is an original Biedermeier sleigh bed from the first half of the 19th century, probably from the period around 1825–1845. An ultimate expert dating has not yet been conducted. Details * antique sleigh/boat bed * probably Biedermeier, 1st half of the 19th century * beautiful cherry wood with lively, natural grain * curved head and foot sections * decorative black profiled strips * turned feet * very characteristic handcrafted execution * signs of age and use present * overall very nice authentic preserved condition The bed has apparently been adapted over time for modern use. The existing lying surface or the current bed base should be checked before purchase according to the desired mattress dimensions. Condition The furniture is in very good condition, but, as expected, shows natural age-related signs of wear, small scratches and irregularities that belong to the character of an antique piece. The surface and the wood structure are overall very appealing. Please note the detail photos – they are part of the condition description. Dimensions 186.5 cm long 113.5 cm wide 81 cm highest point of the headboard 31.5 cm height of the mattress inset 44 cm height of the lowest point Lying surface dimensions: 97 cm x 160 cm The bed can be dissembled. A truly exceptional piece of furniture for lovers of historic furniture, Biedermeier interiors, or as a distinctive eye-catcher in the bedroom. The bed is located in 82340 Feldafing in the basement that has been unpacked and would need to be collected there. For transport, the buyer would need to dismantle it – some mechanical skill is required for this. We recommend wrapping the individual parts in moving blankets. If the buyer is willing to arrange packaging and transport, shipping could also be possible.
