A beautiful Japanese 1976 EAS-series pressing of The Beatles' Second Album, presented as No.17 in the highly collectible Japanese Country Flag OBI series. Introduced in 1976, these distinctive wide OBIs displayed the flag of the country associated with each original album and numbered the records as part of an extensive Beatles reissue campaign. This title represents the classic US Capitol compilation, bringing together energetic early recordings including Roll Over Beethoven, Long Tall Sally, I Call Your Name, She Loves You and You Can't Do That. The Japanese edition features particularly attractive packaging with a matte gatefold sleeve and Japanese and English track information and sleeve notes printed inside. This copy is especially desirable, arriving complete with its original No.17 Country Flag OBI, the original 2-page Japanese/English lyric insert, and the original black die-cut inner sleeve. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The matte gatefold sleeve is very attractive, showing only light signs of age and handling with no major wear. The important Country Flag OBI is particularly clean and well preserved. The original lyric insert is included, though in poor condition.
