A highly collectible original 1964 UK first mono pressing of Beatles For Sale, featuring the desirable 3N/3N matrix combination. Released on 4 December 1964 at the height of Beatlemania, this album marked a noticeably more reflective stage in the group's songwriting, moving beyond pure pop euphoria into deeper emotional territory. The record includes classics such as No Reply, I'm a Loser, Baby's in Black, Eight Days a Week and Every Little Thing—a mix of originals and covers that showcases the band's growing maturity as composers and interpreters. This copy carries the classic black-and-yellow Parlophone labels associated with the original UK issue, bearing the perimeter text "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.", "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" and "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS". The important first-press matrix combination—Side 1: XEX 503-3N and Side 2: XEX 504-3N—represents the original mono cuts used for the first UK production of the album, making this an especially attractive early mono copy for collectors, more-so than the later 4N variations. The mother and stamper details (1 RGP on Side 1, 1/3 RMO on Side 2) add another fascinating layer of early EMI manufacturing provenance. ⸻ Sleeve (VG): The original laminated Garrod & Lofthouse internal-pocket gatefold sleeve remains a very presentable example. There are two small tears around the upper and lower parts of the fold together with a crease towards the right-hand corner. Despite these defects, the sleeve remains structurally solid and retains good overall presentation. Vinyl (VG+): The vinyl retains a very good original gloss with a nice sheen throughout. Light playwear is evident together with a number of fine superficial hairlines visible under strong light, but nothing deep or seriously distracting. No major feelable scratches are present.
