Tutte le aste / Musica & Strumenti Musicali / Beatles - A Hard Day’s Night (UK) – Early Stereo -1/-1...
A highly collectible early UK stereo pressing of A Hard Day's Night, pressed from the original YEX 126-1 / YEX 127-1 stereo lacquers on Parlophone (PCS 3058). The stereo editions of the early Beatles albums were produced in substantially smaller quantities than their mono counterparts, making clean original UK stereo pressings increasingly desirable. This example carries the later "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." perimeter text on the labels, identifying it as an early subsequent pressing, while importantly retaining the very same -1/-1 matrices used for the original 1964 stereo release. Both sides come from notably early mothers (2 MO / 2 MD), adding further collector interest. These early analogue stereo cuts are particularly enjoyable on A Hard Day's Night, presenting the album with the wide, unmistakable stereo image associated with the original UK masters. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): A solid original laminated UK stereo sleeve with attractive overall presentation. There is some creasing to the front laminate, together with light corner wear, but the sleeve remains structurally strong. The spine and rear construction remain well preserved and clearly readable → VG+ Inner Sleeve: Complete with the original period "Use Emitex" inner sleeve. Vinyl (VG+): The record retains a good gloss but shows a fair amount of light hairlining from previous play. Side 2 has a longer visible surface mark; importantly, this is not feelable. Visually this places the record towards the lower end of VG+, but playback remains enjoyable and strong → VG+ Labels: The labels remain presentable and display the characteristic Gramophone Co. rim text of this early pressing. ⸻ Details * UK early stereo pressing * Parlophone PCS 3058 * Original -1/-1 matrices (YEX 126-1 / YEX 127-1) * Early 2 MO / 2 MD mother and stamper configuration * Parlophone labels with Gramophone Co. perimeter text * Original Emitex inner sleeve included * Laminated stereo sleeve * Stereo * Made in Great Britain ⸻ Matrix / Stampers * Side 1: YEX 126-1 * Side 2: YEX 127-1 * Mother / Stampers: 2 MO / 2 MD
