B. Bondi (1987) - Agrumi sulla costa

Title: Citrus on the Coast Artist: Bruno Bondi Measurements: 40x30 cm A rich vegetation of citrus frames a coastal view, opening the gaze to a blue sea and to a village arranged along the slope. The trunk, placed on the right side, and the branches heavy with fruit create a natural frame that draws the observer closer to the scene. The yellows and oranges of the citrus stand out among the green leaves, illuminated by light touches that emphasize their volume and ripeness. Beyond this lush foreground, the houses follow in a pattern of white, pinkish, and ochre façades, terraces and roofs, tracing the contours of the mountain. The rocky walls alternate bright areas and deep shadows, while the sea hosts numerous small boats, marked by white signs. The coast gradually recedes toward more muted elevations, building a broad perspective. B. Bondi unites vegetal richness and the openness of the panorama in a scene of strong Mediterranean character. The low wall in the foreground makes the view resemble a private overlook, from which to contemplate the light, the colors, and the vitality of the coast.
