Antique Victorian Silver-Plated Biscuit Barrel / Tobacco Pot with Lion - c. 1880-1900 - James Dixon EPNS Description: Antique English biscuit barrel / tobacco pot / lid beer mug from the Victorian era, circa 1880-1900 by James Dixon Finished in silver-plated metal (EPNS) with rich decoration: • Lid with floral relief in repoussé technique • Thumb support in the shape of a seated lion • Elegant handle with floral motifs • Three feet in the shape of lion heads / lion’s paws Dimensions: approx. H 13 cm x D 11–12 cm (estimated) Weight: approx. 719 g Condition: in unrestored, original state with natural patina and tarnish due to age, as seen in photos. Hinge functions. Wear on the base and feet consistent with age. Interior with signs of use. Not polished. Origin: English, Sheffield. Small hallmark visible on the bottom. A wonderful decorative object for a collection of curiosities, tobacco culture, or a brocante/vintage interior.
