I checked mainly the 1945 contexts of the 116th Panzer-Division and the Jagdpanther, in addition to the retreat of the 11th Panzer-Division after Operation Dragoon. National WWII Museum⁠, World War Photos⁠, Operation Dragoon⁠ Lot of 4 German World War II military vehicles – IXO for De Agostini – Scale 1:72 Interesting lot consisting of four collectible military models belonging to the series “Panzer: the German armored vehicles of World War II,” published by De Agostini starting in 2009. The models, produced by IXO for De Agostini, are mainly made of die-cast metal, with plastic components and detailing. Each vehicle features a historical paint scheme and is placed on its own descriptive base with a protective transparent case. Panzerbefehlswagen V Panther Ausf. G – 116. Panzer-Division, Germany, 1945 Command version of the Panther Ausf. G, equipped with additional radio gear and recognizable by the presence of the antennas necessary for coordinating armored units. The model reproduces a vehicle from the 116th Panzer-Division “Windhund,” a formation that fought on the Western Front in Normandy, in the Hürtgen Forest and during the Ardennes offensive. In 1945 the division participated in the final defensive operations on German soil, ending its activity in the Ruhr pocket. 2. Panzerjäger V Jagdpanther (Sd.Kfz. 173) – schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 655, Oldenburg, Germany, 1945 The Jagdpanther was one of the most effective German tank destroyers of World War II. It combined the chassis and mobility of the Panther with the powerful 88 mm Pak 43 anti-tank gun, housed in an angled armored superstructure. This instance is attributed to the schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 655 and set in Oldenburg in 1945, during the final weeks of the war and the Allied advance into northern Germany. 3. Flakpanzer IV “Möbelwagen” (Sd.Kfz. 161/3) – 11. Panzer-Division, Lyon, France, 1944 The Möbelwagen was a self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle built on the Panzer IV chassis. It was armed with a Flak 43 37 mm cannon and featured large foldable side armor plates that protected the crew during movement and could be lowered to allow firing. The model represents a vehicle of the 11th Panzer-Division in the Lyon area in 1944. After the Allied landings in southern France, accomplished with Operation Dragoon, the division formed one of the main German armored forces tasked with covering the retreat along the Rhône Valley. 4. Sd.Kfz. 222 – 10. Panzer-Division, Tunis, Tunisia, 1943 The Sd.Kfz. 222 was a light four-wheeled armored car used mainly for reconnaissance, liaison, and patrol duties. The open turret was armed with a 20 mm automatic cannon and a coaxial machine gun. The paint scheme reproduces a vehicle from the 10th Panzer Division during the Tunisia campaign of 1943. The division was moved to North Africa after the Anglo-American landings of Operation Torch and fought until the Axis forces surrendered in Tunisia in May of the same year. The models appear overall well preserved. The transparent cases show scratches, dust traces, surface marks, and normal signs due to display and conservation, clearly visible in the photographs. The images are an integral part of the description and show exactly the objects included in the lot. All models will be packaged separately with special care to protect the miniatures and the related display cases during transport.
