Historical description of the work: Splendid and rare rectangular bronze bas-relief from 1951 that celebrates the history of Paris and its symbols (the Revolutions of 1789 and 1830, Saint Genevieve, Saint-Denis, the University), crowned by the city motto "Fluctuat Nec Mergitur". The back features an institutional commemorative engraving that makes this lot a unique collectible variant: "Xᵉ CONVENTION SISS - PARIS 1958 - PARIS 1968" (Société Internationale de la Science du Sol).
