Tutte le aste / Sport & Tempo Libero / Apple Iconic Aluminum Tower – Final-Generation G5: Last...
>> FORWORD Please don't make any assumptions, but READ the (full) accompanying text – and look at the (all) photos "very carefully" to avoid disappointments. [ UPGRADED & REFURBISHED ] >> A must-have for the die-hard-"Apple/Macintosh" collector! *** NOTE: ONLY THE MAC IS AUCTIONED *** (display, keyboard and mouse are shown for display purpose only) // The Final Evolution of the PowerPC Era Offered here is the "Power Mac G5 Dual 2.3 Ghz" — one of the last and most refined PowerPC desktop systems Apple ever produced, just before the historic transition to Intel in 2006. This Late 2005 revision represents the mature, PCI-Express generation of the G5 platform — combining architectural improvements with Apple’s now iconic aluminum enclosure design. For collectors and enthusiasts, this model marks the true closing chapter of Apple’s PowerPC lineage. // Key Highlights – Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 processors (two physical CPUs) – PCI-Express architecture – DDR2 memory platform – SATA storage support – Officially compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard – Advanced thermal zoning for stable performance* Unlike certain higher-clocked G5 models, this version uses "air cooling"*, avoiding the well-known risks associated with liquid cooling systems. // Design & Historical Importance The Power Mac G5 introduced the precision-milled aluminum enclosure that later influenced the Mac Pro line and modern Apple industrial design philosophy. Its internal architecture, divided into thermal zones, was revolutionary for its time — combining performance engineering with minimalist aesthetics. Today, it stands as: – A milestone in Apple’s engineering history – A powerful retro Mac OS X workstation – A design object in its own right // Condition This unit is presented in very good vintage condition. The aluminum enclosure remains one of Apple’s most recognizable and collectible tower designs. // Cosmetic Condition – Please Read Carefully As expected for a machine of this age, the aluminum enclosure shows normal signs of use. These may include: – Marks – Scratches – Scuffs – Surface wear typical for brushed aluminum Please note that the photographs present the machine in a slightly more flattering light than reality. Due to lighting and camera angles, fine scratches and surface marks are less visible in the images than they are in person. Aluminum is naturally more sensitive to handling marks, especially along edges and contact surfaces (like the top). Prospective buyers should therefore expect honest, age-appropriate cosmetic wear consistent with a 2005 professional workstation. For transparency, some detailed close-up photos are provided to give a realistic view of the condition. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect functionality. FYI: the closing plate is slightly misaligned. See detailed picture. // Power Connector / Special Power Cable This Late 2005 Dual 2.3 GHz Power Mac G5 features the final-generation Apple power connector, which differs from earlier G5 models. Unlike older G5 towers that use a standard IEC C13 power cord, this model has: – A slightly larger, keyed power input to ensure correct insertion – A proprietary locking system that prevents accidental disconnection – Compatibility with Apple-supplied or correctly rated high-current cables only Important Note: Using a standard G5 power cord from older models does NOT fit. Buyers should be aware that this unit comes with the Apple-specified power cable (included) for safe and proper operation. // Optional Compatibility Note: This Power Mac G5 is fully compatible with Apple’s iconic Aluminum Cinema Display (sold separately, listed this week). Together, they form a period-correct, fully Apple aluminum desktop setup — perfect for collectors, retro Mac enthusiasts, or design-focused workstations. // Shipping Note Please note: due to the weight of this dual 2.3 GHz Power Mac G5 (~24 kg) + protective packaging material, shipping costs will be higher than typical desktop machines. We recommend reviewing the shipping options carefully — local pickup is also possible for European buyers. Despite the shipping, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a final-generation PowerPC desktop in iconic Apple aluminum. "One More Thing" – Steve Jobs quote Don't miss this unique opportunity. Great opportunities don't come everyday! "One More Thing" Let the bidding begin … for the legendary "Power Mac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz (PowerMac11,2)" model. "One More Thing" When in doubt, check my positive customer reviews ;) (… because there are some "copycats" out there who copy my style/text and pretend to be me). There is only one "VISENTO"! That's me ;) "One More Thing" The most dramatically new macintosh since the original. Will you have one?
