Hoogervorst for Anvia. This iconic “Paperclip” or “Elbow” wall lamp is model 71-01 and dates from around 1958. Contemporary design references identify the model as a Hoogervorst design for Anvia, with its characteristic articulated metal arm and adjustable white painted aluminium shade. Both the long articulated arm and the aluminium shade can be adjusted, making it equally suitable as a reading light, desk/task light or atmospheric wall lamp. The substantial approx. 21.5 cm diameter aluminium shade provides a strong, directional light. J.J.M. Hoogervorst (1918–1982) was one of the most important Dutch lighting designers of the post-war period. His functionalist designs for Anvia are now highly sought after by collectors of Dutch Mid-Century Modern design.
