Antique Three Strand Coral Necklace, probably Italy c. 1900

The coral has been considered a good luck charm since ancient times. This necklace in three strands was made in the years around 1900 and presents its salmon red, quality corals graduated by size. A handsome original rolled gold clasp on tombac holds the necklace securely. It holds three coral boutons. A safety chain allows for carefree wear.
