An old diamond is always unique, because no two stones are the same. Every cut, every shade of color and every inclusion pattern gives it its own character and makes it a unique, individual gift. The large diamond in this ring is cut in the round old cut, which is known as the "Old European Cut". It shows a gentle refraction of light and hand-set facets that give it a special vibrancy. The stone weighs around 1.60 carats and has small natural inclusions that are distributed like delicate flags inside. The large diamond is set in a finely crafted ring made of gold and platinum. The artfully openwork prong setting elegantly highlights the stone. Twelve smaller diamonds accompany the central stone in pavé settings on the ring shoulders. The interplay between the platinum and the white color of the historic diamond is particularly attractive, giving the ring an expressive shine. When the ring was created in the Art Deco era - we think around 1930 - the large diamond was already a generation old. Its cut and proportions correspond to the style of c. 1900. In fact, older diamonds were often integrated into new settings in Art Déco, as jewellery fashions had changed considerably. A family heirloom thus became a new piece of jewellery in keeping with the latest fashion. The ring is also ideal as an engagement ring. It is supplied with a detailed appraisal from Vienna.
