Antique inspired Mosaic - 1970-1980 - A Roman-inspired mosaic

This mosaic, a humble heir to the glory of Emerita Augusta, rescues the face of Dionysus from oblivion through the patient assembly of gravel and rock wrested from the very soil of Extremadura. It is a souvenir from the 1970s, born in the warmth of a local workshop where craftsmanship merges with archaeological nostalgia, capturing the essence of the god of wine not in imperial marbles, but in the mineral harshness of the region. In its tesserae of raw stone, a rustic and eternal divinity pulsates, a replica that, despite its modest origins, preserves the echo of Roman banquets and the languid gaze of one who commands the cycles of life and ecstasy under the sun of ancient Lusitania. - Provenance: Private collection in Madrid. - Measurements: 43 x 43 cm / 51 x 51 cm with frame. - Good condition, with minor wear. - The artwork will be shipped and packed professionally, and delivered to you in no time.
