Antique French 'Anglaise' with an openwork mask.

A very fine and high-quality French clock (carriage clock) in the elegant 'Anglaise' style, dating from circa 1890–1895. Features & Design: • Case: Gilded brass with classic fluted corner pillars and a 'Gorge' handle. The brass has a beautiful, authentic patina. • Dial: Cream-white enamel numbers ring with Arabic numerals and a refined, openwork (fretwork) brass mask with a worked gold-colored center. Fully undamaged (no hairlines or chips). Movement & Condition: • Type: Original 8-day time-only movement with a platform escapement, beautifully visible through the top glass. • Condition: Excellent working and runs strongly. The movement ticks very smoothly and reliably. The back plate bears historical watchmaker maintenance marks. Dimensions: • Height: approx. 14.5 cm (without handle) • Width: approx. 9 cm • Depth: approx. 7.5 cm An especially beautiful and rarer collector’s piece in top mechanical condition.
