This is a beautiful English antique oil on canvas riverscape painting "Shipping on the Lower Thames" by Edward Henry Eugene Fletcher (1857 -1945) circa 1890 in date. This painting features ships anchored agaist the dock on the tidal waters of the Lower Thames at dusk with busy dockside workers. The colours are incredibly vibrant for its age and the painting is in it's beautiful original giltwood frame and is signed E. Fletcher lower left.
