Antique Brass/Copper Shoemaker's Last on a Foot - Decorative Counter Model - Circa 1900 A beautiful and rare antique shoemaker's last (shoemaker's anvil) on an elegant, turned baluster foot. Where most authentic iron shoemaker's lasts are made, this piece is entirely crafted in heavy yellow brass (messing). This indicates it was probably used as a luxury display or counter model in a chic shoemaker's workshop or shop, or as a display piece. The base is equipped with three original screw holes that allowed the object to be securely mounted on a counter or workbench at the time. Over the years the last has developed a beautiful, authentic patina with light signs of wear that contribute to its historic character. The connection on the inside of the foot is firmly mounted with an authentic old bolt. A fantastic and unique industrial decorative piece for collectors of antique tools, shoe fashion, or lovers of distinctive vintage eye-catching items. -Material: Brass / Yellow copper (with an iron connecting bolt on the inside) -Period: Circa 1900 (or early 20th century) -Condition: In good, sturdy antique condition with nicely aged patina. See the photos for an accurate impression of the condition. View the photos, they form an important part of the item description.
