Antieke koperen jardinière – Rijk floraal reliëf –...

Antique copper jardinière – Rich floral relief – Elegant claw feet – Classical cachepot A brilliant combination of classical elegance and decorative metalwork! This exceptionally handsome, round jardinière immediately draws the eye with its warm brass-gold appearance, richly worked floral relief, and elegant claw feet. The belly-shaped flower pot features a broad raised decorative band all around, with a lush composition of roses, leaves, and ornate floral motifs. The detailed decoration forms a beautiful contrast with the smooth, lightly curved top and the subtly patinated underside. The jardinière rests on gracefully formed legs, executed as animal claws. A splendid classical detail that gives the piece a stately appearance and makes the pot appear to float above the surface. Classical decorative art with character This type of decorative flower pots, also known as jardinières or cachepots, was especially popular in European interiors during the 19th and early 20th centuries. They were not only used to present plants in style, but also formed a decorative interior piece in themselves. The combination of floral ornamentation, warm brass tone, and classically designed claw feet fits beautifully with this tradition. Even today it is a particularly versatile object. Think of a lush green houseplant, a beautiful bouquet, or simply as an independent showpiece on an antique cabinet, marble mantel, or side table.
