This is a Chinese propaganda poster or print from the period of the Cultural Revolution (late 1960s / early 1970s). The text at the bottom (不到长城非好汉): This literally means: "Who has not reached the Great Wall is not a true hero." This is a famous quote from a poem by Mao Zedong (Qinghai Sheng / Mount Liupan, written in 1935 during the Long March). Today this proverb is often used to say that you must show perseverance to achieve your goals. The image: On the right is a figure representing Mao Zedong (or a Red Guard depicted in the period style with a red armband bearing 红卫兵 - Red Guards). The crowd in the background waves the famous Little Red Books (the Quotations of Chairman Mao). In the background the Great Wall of China can be seen. It is a typical example of the visual style and propaganda of the Maoist era in China. The poster is shipped in a poster tube.
