Andrea Krauß - Sunlit Stillness_11 XXL *no reserve*

Original painting – Acrylic on canvas, 152 × 90 cm Shipped rolled without frame With Sunlit Stillness_11 a fascinating connection emerges between nature motif, luminous color, and atmospheric depth. In front of an intensely gold background, slender, white-shimmering birch trunks rise, their characteristic dark markings forming an appealing contrast to the warm, sunlit color field. Ochre and reddish accents in the lower part of the image add warmth and earthiness to the composition. The special feature of the work lies in the interplay of color and light: The background crafted with gold color has a lively, reflective surface that shimmers differently depending on the light incidence. Thus the painting’s aura changes with its surroundings – sometimes gentle and restrained, sometimes powerfully luminous. Light becomes not only part of the depicted motif but also an essential component of the image’s effect. Historically, the work can be placed in the tradition of modern landscape abstraction, where nature is understood not as a faithful reproduction, but as an expression of mood, rhythm, and feeling. The vertically towering birches, in their reduced yet expressive form, recall the Expressionist engagement with the immediate impact of color and nature. At the same time, the generous, flat design of the golden background points to a contemporary, decoratively abstract image conception, where materiality and light reflection take on an independent role. With its tall format of 152 × 90 cm, the painting has an impressive presence. The rising tree trunks give the image calm and structure, while the radiant gold surface creates an almost meditative atmosphere. The work combines natural charm with a modern, expressive color scheme and makes a striking accent in living spaces, representative rooms, or a contemporary art collection. Sunlit Stillness_11 is a painting about the quiet power of nature, the changing play of light, and the special atmosphere of a sun-drenched moment – captured in a composition whose effect unfolds anew with every look and every incidence of light. **The artwork at a glance:** - Overall canvas size 162 x 100 cm, image size 152 x 90 cm (5 cm border for stretching the canvas) - Acrylic painting, thickly impasto applied - Painted on canvas - Signed on the back, numbered - Shipped rolled, professionally packed in bubble wrap - Authenticity certificate included Andrea Krauß, winner of the AOK Nordost Art Prize in Berlin/Brandenburg and fellow at the Lukas Artist House in Ahrenshoop, is a graduate of the HbK Braunschweig Academy of Arts.
