Encounter of Birches Original painting – acrylic on canvas, 70 × 75 cm Shipped rolled, unframed With Encounter of Birches, a bold, contemporary interpretation of a birch landscape is presented, where nature observation and painterly abstraction engage in a tense dialogue. Before a multi-layered, luminous blue, the bright, characteristically drawn birch trunks rise. Their cream-white and warm, earthy surfaces stand in an appealing contrast to the dark tree drawings and the deep-blue gaps. The sculpturally applied color layers, visible palette knife traces, and finely nuanced textures give the work a tangible, tactile presence and render the bark almost graspable. In the background, suggested branches and twigs create additional depth and connect the individual trees into a living structure. Historically, the work can be located in the tension between expressive landscape painting and contemporary nature abstraction.
