Andrea Krauß is among the prominent figures of contemporary German painting. The recipient of the AOK Nordost Art Prize (Berlin/Brandenburg) and former fellow of the renowned Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop completed her studies at the Braunschweig University of Art. For many years she has consistently devoted herself to painting and now lives and works in her Berlin-based studio. At the center of her artistic work is the connection between memory, atmosphere, and landscape. Starting from personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops pictorial worlds that go beyond the individual and touch universal experiences of nature, space, and transience. Recurring motifs include birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence merges with traces of human shaping and memory.
