Ancient Roman

Bronze Roman fibula of the Aucissa type – 1st century AD. Era: Roman Empire, 1st century AD (typological attribution). Material: Bronze with archaeological patina. Measurements: 19 × 52 × 33 mm. Elegant bronze Roman fibula, attributable to the typological family Aucissa, characterized by its pronounced semicircular arc, its carefully incised fluted decoration, and its attractive design. Features a curved body with longitudinal relief ridges, delicate transversal moldings at the top, and a globular terminus at the opposite end. Retains the pin and the hinge mechanism. It stands out especially for its magnificent sculptural presence and its attractive archaeological patina, with olive green, dark brown, and earthy golden tones that enhance the details of its ornamentation. Fibulae were essential elements of Roman attire, used to fasten cloaks and other garments, combining functionality and personal ornamentation. Condition: Visually good for its typology and age, with wear, earthy deposits, and superficial concretions. Retains its main structural elements. An attractive piece of Roman archaeology, representative of the small personal adornment objects from the early days of the Empire.
