Ancient Roman Bronze Foot (No reserve price)

Ancient Roman Bronze Right Foot Fragment This ancient Roman bronze right foot preserves a small yet evocative detail of a larger whole. Surviving up to the ankle, the fragment ends in an irregular break marking the point where the remaining portion has been lost. Green and brown tones of patina colour the surface, while a distinctive openwork section beneath the foot forms an approximately triangular opening. The Lost Foot takes its name from that lost connection: a foot that remained while the story surrounding it disappeared. Small in scale yet compelling in its visual presence, this fragment invites its next custodian to contemplate the whole to which it once belonged. Weight: 7 gr Diameter: 23,7 mm
