Amsterdam School pendulum clock - Art Deco oak- Coromandel-brass - 1920-1930

This Amsterdam School / Art Deco pendulum clock dates from the 1920s–1930s. The oval clock case is still in mint condition and made of beautiful lightly figured oak. The symmetry is extraordinarily striking and beautiful, and clearly visible in the clock case, which seems almost four‑dimensional, as the oval element form is echoed in the overall shape of the case, the oval panel in coromandel wood at the front, and further in the dial design, with that feature even visible inside the dial. The strikingly handsome brass numeral dial is made of solid thick brass and features the typical Art Deco numerals and the characteristic clean hands, all in the original patina color. The clock case rests on four round wooden discs. The movement runs well and is lightly oiled where needed and set perfectly level. The three-tone bim-bam strike gives a lovely sound. An original Amsterdam School clock in this design and with this distinctive dial is rarely seen, and it fits any type of interior and will be a striking eye‑catcher in your home. A clock for collectors, or enthusiasts of Art Deco. Special: A clock of the same model is also included in the collection at the Art Deco museum 't Schip in Amsterdam. The clock will be shipped including a key and carefully packed to European countries only.
