A magnificent ALPA 6b is offered, one of the Swiss mechanical SLRs most appreciated by collectors and photographers. Manufactured with the extraordinary watchmaking precision characteristic of Pignons S.A., the ALPA represents one of the peak exemplars of European photographic engineering of the 20th century. The set includes the legendary Kern Macro-Switar 50mm f/1.8 AR, considered one of the most prestigious standard optics produced for the ALPA system. Made in Switzerland by Kern Aarau, this lens stands out for its extraordinary sharpness, excellent APO-standard color reproduction, high micro-contrast, and a particularly smooth focusing transition. Review done in March 2026, an original cap and a custom B 270 | SCHOTT UV filter included (very hard to find) Condition - Camera in good cosmetic and functional condition for its age. - Mechanical shutter operating correctly at all speeds. - Split-image finder clean and bright with minimal dust. - Auto-exposure/auto-shot works correctly. - Shutters perfectly flat with no tears or perforations. - Kern Macro-Switar 50mm f/1.8 lens with smooth focus and aperture movement, oil-free. - Glasses clean, no visible fungi or haze. May show slight signs of use/cleaning. Please review the photographs carefully, as they form part of the lot description. A unique piece for collectors. Tested with film as well as when adapted to digital cameras. Photos taken with the lens are provided. ALPA cameras were produced in very limited quantities and hand-assembled in Switzerland. When paired with Kern Macro-Switar lenses (limited to about 9,000 units of this version), they represent one of the most exclusive and sought-after photographic systems on the classic camera market. Their build quality, rarity and historical prestige make them an excellent piece for both collection and high-level analog photography. The equipment will be carefully packed to ensure safe transport. Continental Europe bidders only. The items I offer are personal collectibles. Due to their ages, their physical and functional condition is not guaranteed 100%. There may be details not described above; the photos are part of the description. If items are marked as “REGULAR” and/or “UNTESTED,” each person may interpret them differently. To avoid misunderstandings about the item's condition or expectations derived from different appraisal criteria, the description and the photographs form an integral part of the listing. As this is a private sale, no claims based on subjective expectations will be accepted. Nevertheless, the operation of elements such as the shutter, the rangefinder, the light meter, etc. is checked, and the lenses are visually inspected.
