Artwork no.646 Dimensions: 68.00 x 68.00 (cm) I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have created. "Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent faces of women with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll, and you can do with me whatever you want" with everything that is behind it, up to, unfortunately, violence. *** This work is unique and original. Each work is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipping worldwide, with the Certificate of Authenticity included. A tracking number is provided for the shipment. This piece will be shipped without frame and without stretchers as the artwork will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the greater surface will be useful and necessary to be able to stretch the canvas on a frame. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork value. Born in 1974 I am self-taught. After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long stop of almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but in the last period I am also pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real. For me painting is to "block time" in that exact moment; one of my paintings is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are street walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface. The passing time is the main theme of my works. Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceptible to the touch as well as to the naked eye. In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from small bits of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical-Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that, when viewed up close, seem to form an abstract colorful painting but the further you go away, a portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
