For sale is an absolute museum-quality highlight and an extremely rare collectors' item of postmodern design: a large-format porcelain lidded canister model “Vaso 1” from the exclusive collection “The Objects” within the legendary “Tendentse” series by Alessi from 1997. This spectacular object combines the creative genius of two leading figures of the world-famous Milanese Memphis design group: the oval, sculptural form was designed by British designer George Sowden. The colorful, imaginative decor with exotic birds and floral elements comes from the hand of French artist and painter Nathalie du Pasquier. The style deliberately breaks with the strict, colorless Bauhaus rules and emphasizes emotional provocation and the pure joy of design. The exclusive porcelain piece was produced on behalf of Alessi in top quality at a renowned German traditional manufactory. Absolute collector’s dream condition (New Old Stock): Condition: The lidded canister is completely new, flawless and unused. It has never been on display in light and shows no chips, cracks, crazing, or wear in the decoration. The porcelain is radiant white and the colors are absolutely fresh as on the first day in 1997. Original packaging (OPP): The object is in the original Alessi factory packaging (including the stamped production number 95421 on the cardboard tab), which protects the lid and the canister perfectly.
